Flashback Date: July 1997

Flashback History: Isaac was 16, Taylor was 13, and Zac was 11 and Hanson were riding the wave of their "MMMBop" and "Middle of Nowhere" success. Everyone wanted a piece of Hanson....

"Remember When..." is dedicated to Hansonmania -when we were all so young and so innocent... We decided to think back and remember all the strange things we did when we were so crazy about Hanson. Now we've all grown up and we're MATURE Hanson Fans, but it's always fun to remember what it was like back then. If you'd like to add to this list feel free to email us at fansfromoz@hotmail.com. Remember When....

The following are contributed by Tracey (WA):

  • You first heard MMMbop on the radio and thought it was Whigfield.
  • You first saw a Hanson T-Shirt and chased the girl around the shops for an hour just so you could ask her where she got it from.
  • You bought the yellow MMMbop only to notice that there was new red and white one.
  • You had the VCR ready to tape Hanson on "Hey Hey It's Saturday", but they appeared on the news right before it and you missed taping it.
  • You screamed when you saw them on the news right before "Hey Hey".
  • Tulsa,Tokyo and the Middle of Nowhere came out and you bought it that very day.
  • You watched TT&MON several times a day.
  • You bought "Middle of Nowhere" and played it 24/7.
  • Your room was COVERED in Hanson posters and you parents got freaked out by it.
  • You caught your mum singing 'Where's The Love?' while cooking dinner.

  • You got the Snowed In CD as a Christmas Present on Christmas Eve
  • You got out of Hanson and N'Sync, and now your totally into them

  • You first saw Hanson's video clip, MMMBop, and you thought Taylor was a girl... I know I did!
  • You would buy every teen magazine in the newsagents just so you could get the posters.
  • You used to graffitti "I love Hanson" slogans on your school books and pencil case.
  • After constantly begging her, your Mum finally caved in and bought you the new Hanson album, only to find out that your Dad had actually paid attention to your interests, and bought the same CD that morning as a surprise for you...
  • Your brother stole your CD because he couldn't stand listening to MMMBop on repeat.... but you had another copy anyway.
  • The media decided to start up the "Great Hanson Debate", and unfortunately turn many Australians into anti-Fansons.
  • You kept your Fanson-status a secret because being a Hanson fan was "uncool".
  • You realised that its stupid to judge yourself and others on things like music taste, say to yourself that everyone has different likes and dislikes, and there is no reason to be ashamed of supporting such a talented trio.

  • The only reason why you went on one of the 'scary rides' is because they were playing Hanson on their stereo, even if you did throw up afterwards.
  • You bought all the Hanson necklaces, rings and jewelry that you came across.
  • You would buy all the Hanson books through book club at school, although kids made fun of you. But then you realised they were just jealous because you had such good taste in music.
  • You wrote "I LOVE HANSON" and your favourite member over EVERYTHING! Like it was your trademark.

  • You would tape mmmbop off rage on saturday morning and then again on sunday morning, everyweek until you had a tape that had 29 mmmbops in a row.
  • You entered every single hanson competition you came across in hopes of meeting hanson.
  • You waited 8 years for hanson to play a concert in perth... oh wait thats now... AND NOW THEY'RE COMING!
  • You would go round to your nannas house to watch hanson on MTV or a channel you couldnt get and you still taped it even though you could hardly see or hear through the static.
  • You plaited one plait at the back of your head, just like taylor had.
  • You waited for free dress day just so you could wear your hanson shirt.
  • You planned to miss some of your end of year exams just so you could fly to melbourne and see them in concert, but then decided that probably wasnt the best idea.
  • You were at the show and you paid heaps to pose with a card board cut out of taylor and then told your friends you really met him.
