Saturday October 2, 2004 will go down in South Australian Hanson history as the day we got our act together. Well over a year since the flag project started it made its way to our little "backward" state and we each added a little bit to the now infamous flag. But hey when South Aussies do stuff, we don't do it by halves..with a record turn out of 12!
The scene was the Adelaide Botanic Gardens located in the city away from the normal "unfriendlys" the city attracts. Well except for the two old chain smoking, horse racing men who once realised we weren't going to leave they went off in a little huff. (They could have left the radio though!) Then there was the two scrawny, homeless looking, "I haven't bathed in a year" men who kept thinking we were talking to them. Oh lets not forget the Goths that numbered about 20. Trust us to pick the day the Marilyn Manson fan club was having their meet up...
The flag, a piece of Oz Hanson fan history. Course what do you write? And where the heck do you write it?! Being the last major stop on the flags tour (which has toured more of Oz than Hanson has themselves) But being SA fans we found a way. Just in seven years time can people write a little smaller? cheers :-) After much procrastinating and dobbing in who was going to go first, everyone left a mark on the fabric. Some of them actually makes sense. Moe magazine 12 was passed around as well as the version of Hanson singing "Dirrty" (next time will bring earphones where both work!).

As us South Ozzies are professionals, the raffle was conducted in the correct way. Pieces of paper was ripped up and shuffled in a glasses case. Four people walked away with a little something to add to their Hanson collections.
Winners (are grinners!)
MOE 4 - Belinda
MOE Enhanced - Elle
Hanson.net Enhanced CD - Hannah
Tattoos - Kate

Once the shared lunch was eaten and far to much creaming soda was drunk by some people, it was time to organise a group photo before we all went seperate ways. We shall now offer an official apology to the poor lady who just wanted a light for her smoke but ended up taking seven different photos on seven different cameras! For that she was offered another light as the one she had lit, had gone out while taking the photos!
So there ya go, a good day was hopefully had by all and the botanic garden grass now has a lot more air holes thanks to the heels on my shoes (my feet are still killing me!). Next time we wont be the last group do do things since there are so many of us! Maybe next meet up will be at the airport on our way to see a Hanson concert or in the hallway of a venue in Adelaide *cough*not likely to happen*cough*. :-)
