[Adelaide Flag Signing] [Brisbane Flag Signing] [Canberra Flag Signing] [Melbourne Flag Signing] [Perth Flag Signing] [Sydney Flag Signing]
Well the project is over... it spent a year travelling around Australia, with it's journey finally ending on November 19th, 2004. You can read about the presentation of the Aussie Hanson Flag to Hanson here.
To be apart of this exciting project, don't forget to fill out the form below!
During the holidays, we thought we'd get an Aussie
Hanson project going to show our appreciation for Hanson's
music and to let them know that they still have fans here in
Australia. We all know that it is physically impossible for
Hanson to visit every part of Australia, so we thought why not
bring the Australian fans to them? The result - Project Aussie Hanson Flag....
What does the project
involve? We are going to send a huge flag to as many fans as possible around Australia. Each fan
will sign the flag and take a picture of themselves with the
flag. You will then send the flag on to the next Aussie Hanson
fan until the flag ends up back in Canberra with Tanya, who
will map it's journey in the Aussie scrap book.
Each
fan will also be given one page in the scrap book to do as
they please. You will send the photo of yourself with the flag
to Tanya, along with a letter to Hanson, or anything you'd
like to share with them. You have a full A4 page to express
yourself. You can send your artwork, poems, photos, letters
or anything that describes who you are.
The flag and
scrap book will be presented to Hanson on their next trip to
Australia (fingers crossed) or alternatively sent to them in
Tulsa.
How do I get involved? For
this to work we need all Australian fans to get behind this
project. This is a great way to show our appreciation for
Hanson's music and to let them know that they still have lots
of Australian fans out here. We know that there are still a
lot of Aussie fans out there and we are aiming for no less
than 100 signatures on this flag!!
To be a part of
project fill out the form
below and then wait for the flag to visit you. We will e-mail
you as soon as the flag has been posted to you so that you
know when to expect it.
What happens when I receive the
flag? Once the flag has been received, you will
sign the flag and take a photo of yourself with the flag (or
the flag by itself in a setting that means something to you,
such as your room, your favourite park etc). You will then
send the flag onto the next fan. In order to speed this
process up, the day you receive the flag we ask that you sign
the flag and send it on to the next fan the following day.
You will have more
time to work on your letter/page for the scrapbook. Anything
that you want included in the scrapbook will be sent directly
to Tanya, so you can send those by October 12th. This will
give you time to have your photos developed etc.
What do I include for my page in the
scrapbook?
Please note the scrapbook deadline is October 12th. If you haven't received the flag yet, you can still be working on your scrapbook piece!
This is your chance to share with Hanson
your appreciation for the music or for you to show Hanson the
kind of person that you are. What you include in this
scrapbook is entirely up to you. It can be a letter of thanks
to Hanson, or a letter detailing how Hanson have helped you.
It can be a poem, artwork, song, basically anything that shows
off the person you are. All we ask is that you do not send
things that won't fit in the scrap book (ie two dimensional
things rather than three dimensional things). There is a size
restriction - you should aim to only include things that will
fit on an A4 bit of paper (one sided).
You will send these things to Tanya so that she
can compile them into the scrapbook. Your page will have your
name (and possibly your age - we haven't decided yet) and the
town and state that you come from. For example, Jane Doe from
Gundagi, Victoria. Underneath will be your photo with the flag
and your letter etc.
Having trouble deciding what to put on your scrapbook page for the Aussie Hanson Flag Project? Catherine (NSW) and Nyssa (VIC) have kinda allowed us to use their scrapbook piece as examples. Don't worry if you're like me and nowhere near as creative as them - a simple letter to Hanson expressing how you feel is more than adequate! If you haven't received the flag yet, you can be working on your scrapbook piece while you are waiting.
What if I'm away and the flag turns up
- I don't want to delay the process? We have
included a section in the form for this reason. If you are
going to be away on holidays just fill in the dates that
you'll be away and we'll make sure that the flag is not sent
to you during that time.
What about my privacy? We
here at Fans From Oz respect your privacy. Your address will
not be sent around Australia or given to a third party. All
details will be destroyed as soon as the project has finished.
However, for this to work in a reasonable timeframe, it is not
practical for the flag to be sent to you and then for you to
send it back to Tanya to send on to the next fan. The previous
fan to receive the flag will be sending it on to the next fan. They
will receive the address of the next fan to send the flag
onto. This means that only ONE other person will be receiving
your address. This person is a fan just like yourself, wanting
to show their appreciation for Hanson and their music. We are also looking to arrange flag signing days in various states, where you can show up in person and sign the flag.
What are you waiting for? Fill in the form
and become part of the biggest Hanson project to hit
Australia!!
Yes I want to be a part of this
Project:
As a thank you to all the Aussie fans for their support, we will randomly be giving away Hanson merchandise including enhanced MOE CDs, hanson.net CDs, Official tattoos and more. Everyone who signs up is in with a chance to win....
